Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has finally addressed long-standing questions surrounding her relationship with fellow movie star Genevieve Nnaji.
Speaking during an appearance on the *Tea with Tay* podcast, the award-winning actress reflected on how their once-admired friendship gradually drifted apart over the years.
According to Kate Henshaw, she still does not fully understand what caused the distance between them, despite the close bond they once shared as two of Nollywood’s biggest actresses.
In her words:
“We grew apart. Maybe she had some kind of mistrust about me… I don’t know what happened. I don’t know what came over her.”
The 53-year-old actress admitted that while there may have been some level of misunderstanding or mistrust, she remains unsure about the exact reason their friendship changed.
For years, Kate Henshaw and Genevieve Nnaji were seen by fans as one of Nollywood’s most respected friendships, often appearing together at movie premieres, award shows, and industry events.
Meanwhile, the actress has also been making headlines recently over her comments on surrogacy in Nigeria.
During a separate interview with News Central, Kate questioned why some healthy women choose surrogacy despite having no known medical complications.
Referencing businesswoman Ifedayo Agroro’s viral video on the topic, the actress expressed surprise over the growing trend.
“I watched Ife’s video and I was wondering, why? She’s healthy and has nothing wrong with her,” Kate stated during the interview.
