Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has stirred reactions online after calling on Christians in Jos to leave the city following the deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba on Sunday.
Reacting to the incident, which reportedly claimed dozens of lives, the actor took to Instagram with a brief but controversial message:
“Christians should leave Jos.”
He, however, added that nemesis would eventually catch up with those behind the killings.
His statement quickly sparked mixed reactions, with many social media users arguing that leaving the city is not a realistic solution, especially as a large number of Plateau residents are Christians who have deep ancestral and economic ties to the state.
One user, King_ofthecoast, wrote:
"Leave Jos to where if I may ask??? The primary cause of this whole Jos crisis is to make Jos a Muslim state which Christians have been fighting for years. If you truly understand the fight all through these years they have been fighting… there’s nothing like Boko haram attacks, it’s all Muslims vs Christians… Muslims want to dominate."
Another user, Riyanxeally, said:
“Thank you, Eze, for always speaking loudly, but most of the people there have built everything in Jos. Where will they start from again? The government needs to do better.”
Others insisted they would not abandon their homeland. RechealJoseph commented:
“We will never leave our God-given land for anyone. We shall overcome whatsoever the enemies have planned in Jesus’ name.”
Some users also stressed that the issue goes beyond religion and points to broader governance and security failures.
The debate continues as residents and Nigerians at large call for stronger government action to address the recurring violence in Plateau State.
