Founder of Omega Power Ministries, Chibuzor Chinyere, has officiated the marriage of Aboy Chibuzor to an older single woman, despite earlier backlash over the arrangement.
The wedding ceremony was held on Sunday, March 29, at the church. According to reports, the groom, who is non-verbal and requires daily support, was abandoned at the church as a child and has since remained under the pastor’s care.
Pastor Chinyere said the decision was driven by the need to provide Aboy with companionship and long-term support.
He also announced substantial financial gifts for the couple, including ₦10 million, a house, and an overseas vacation.
Following criticism that the initial proposal was inappropriate and demeaning to women, the pastor publicly apologised, stating that he “can never degrade any woman.”
In a recent update shared on Facebook, Chinyere said:
“Aboy, Chibuzor, finally marries today, 29 March 2026. A single woman of God. 10 million Naira wedding gift. Free house. Overseas vacation. And 20 million Naira after 10 years if Aboy is still alive. And many more gift loading….”
He further revealed that church members also contributed financially, with one donating ₦1 million and another ₦200,000.
The pastor also claimed that “a miracle has already started,” saying Aboy can now feed himself without assistance, and expressed hope that he would begin to speak within six months.
“There is nothing God cannot do,” he added.
The development has continued to generate mixed reactions online, with some praising the gesture and others raising ethical concerns about the arrangement.
