Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has lavished praises on Nigeria’s top musicians, describing Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy as legends who are putting the country on the global music map.
Osimhen made the remarks during a Twitch livestream with popular Nigerian comedian Carter Efe in the early hours of Saturday.
When asked about his relationship with the music stars, the footballer admitted he has met them personally and is a huge fan of their work.
“I don meet them in person of course, dem dey put on, dem dey do amazingly well. See these guys, why I love them like mad. The thing wey dem dey do dey put our country up there on international, global level. E no normal.
“No be wetin you fit see other countries dey try, but we in terms of songs, omo, these guys dey put us there. These guys dem be big legend,” Osimhen said in pidgin.
He also highlighted the pride Nigerians feel when their music dominates clubs around the world.
“You know wetin e mean for enter club, dem knack Davido song, Wizkid song, Burna Boy song, and these, and they say this songs is David. And I say yeah, they are from Nigeria.
“They will tell you say Nigeria is so blessed with a lot of talented artists. That alone na bragging rights for us,” he added.
