Nigerian skitmaker Carter Efe has publicly apologised to Afrobeats star Wizkid and his fanbase, FC, following backlash over controversial remarks he made during a podcast appearance.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Carter Efe criticised Wizkid. He expressed disappointment that the singer did not acknowledge or promote his hit song Machala, which he recorded with Berri Tiga. He said he created the track out of loyalty and admiration but felt ignored despite its success.

At the time, Carter Efe had shifted allegiance to Davido’s 30BG camp after the singer appeared on his livestream. He also boasted about his streaming success and claimed Wizkid would one day have to pay to feature on his livestream — comments that angered Wizkid’s fans.

Following intense online criticism, Carter Efe made a U-turn. During a recent livestream, he went on his knees to apologise to Wizkid and FC, pledging never to disrespect the singer again.

“Please, please, please, I beg you, I beg with God, I’m pleading with Wizkid and Wizkid FC to forgive me. I promise I won’t insult Wizkid again. If I ever do, let me die young. I swear to God, please forgive me,” he said.
