Relationship coach and pastor, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, has responded to critics within the Christian community regarding his recently acquired tattoo.

In a video shared on social media on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Okonkwo expressed that he felt disrespected by what he described as “junior pastors” questioning his actions, which he had seen discussed in several online videos.

Okonkwo became the focus of public debate after he openly displayed his new tattoo in a viral clip, sparking reactions from religious figures. Among those who commented was Rev Esiri Kesiena, who cited Leviticus 19:28, emphasizing that the biblical instruction against marking the body was meant for the Israelites to distinguish them from pagan practices.

During a sermon, Okonkwo highlighted the concept of spiritual hierarchy, stressing that not everyone has the authority to correct leaders with broader spiritual responsibilities.

“I’m insulted because there is ranking in the spirit. My junior can’t talk when I am talking,” he stated, noting that certain matters are beyond the understanding of those not operating at the same level.

Okonkwo also referenced American televangelist Joyce Meyer, pointing out that she reportedly got a tattoo at around 80 years old.

He clarified that his decision to showcase his tattoo was connected to his personal calling and the specific audience he ministers to.

“I shared it because of my position, my calling, and the nature of the people I lead,” he said, adding that leadership entails responsibilities and actions that may not always be understood by others.
