Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose, has stirred controversy with a recent video he posted on Instagram.

In the clip, expressing relief, he thnaked the maker that he is not Igbo and claimed the ethnic group is easily influenced by money and power, comparing their loyalty to “puppy dogs.”

“Thank God I’m not Igbo by tribe. That tribe is so easy to buy with m0ney — just hold m0ney and p0wer and they will follow you like a puppy d0g,” he said

He contrasted the Igbo response to detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu in Sokoto prison with what he described as the Yoruba effort to secure Sunday Igboho’s release and forgiveness.

The clip has reignited discussions about ethnic tensions in Nigerian politics. Many Nigerians condemned the remarks as divisive and promoting tribal stereotypes, while others used humor or counter-comments aimed at other ethnic groups.

@idris_senator__"This is disgusting and irresponsible. No ethnic group is for sale, and comments like this only fuel hatred and division in a country already battling unity issues. This is Totally unacceptable."

@shuluemp___"First of all, the idea that “Igbo people are easy to buy” is lazy propaganda. If anything, Igbos are known for being too independent, stubborn, and business-minded. They don’t “follow power like puppies” they follow opportunity, and there’s a big difference."

@doris8887___"Igbo's are not the tribe that uses "Owo da". He knows the truth about the tribe that collected bread and ijebu garri to vote for an old incompetent president."

@_olukoni___"Anybody can be bought with money and power. It is not specific to any tribe."

@IgbokweNnamdi1___"Igbos are easily bought with money, but we cancelled Obi Cubana, Yul Edochie, Cubana Chief priest and many more even with their money. Show me were you tribe cancel Seyi Tinubu for sharing spaghetti to your mothers ? So me were your tribe cancel Okoya Children ? Abeg rest."

@gabriel_bolatit___"This hasty generalisation, I don't think it's fair to generalised everyone because of actions of few people. This statement is not ideal it can cause a major issues in the country and also for you."
