The family of veteran actress popularly known as Aunty Ajara has confirmed her death following a brief battle with a liver-related illness.

Her passing was confirmed by medical doctors and communicated to her family on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

The sad news was later announced in a viral video shared online by her elder brother, Ridwan Lazeez, who expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their overwhelming support during her illness.

Also sharing the update on Instagram, actress Mama No Network wrote that Aunty Ajara passed away overnight after a courageous fight with her health challenges.

She thanked the public for the prayers, financial assistance, and emotional support shown to the late actress and her family.

She further appealed to well-wishers to stop sending money to the previously shared account, noting that financial contributions were no longer needed.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones during this painful time. May her soul rest in perfect peace,” she stated.

Aunty Ajara’s death came just days after colleagues and supporters had taken to social media to seek financial assistance for her medical care.
