Nigerian singer Ruger has joined the growing list of celebrities calling for answers following the shocking death of 22-year-old Afrofuji star, Destiny Boy.

Destiny Boy reportedly passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, leaving behind his young wife and a child he welcomed in November 2024. His sudden demise sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry and social media.

The news gained widespread attention after a disturbing video surfaced online showing the singer lying motionless in the backseat of a car, with wool placed in his nostrils as he was allegedly being transported to a mortuary.

The clip quickly went viral, fueling speculation and confusion about the circumstances surrounding his death.

As details remain unclear, conflicting reports have emerged online. While some claim Destiny Boy died at the residence of a herbalist, others insist he fell ill earlier in the day. None of these accounts has been officially confirmed, leaving fans searching for answers.

Reacting on X, Ruger expressed deep frustration over the lack of investigation into the young singer’s passing. He questioned why no autopsy was conducted and criticized how quickly people seemed to move on without demanding explanations.

In his words:

"People will just post that someone has died and everyone will move on. What caused his death? Who was he with? What was he eating or drinking? No autopsy, nothing! We just have to accept that he’s dead. My God, RIP Destiny Boy."

Ruger further stirred conversations when he replied to a fan, stating that many deaths are not natural and insisting that someone must be held accountable.

Meanwhile, more videos have surfaced online with unverified claims that Destiny Boy vomited before his death and may have consumed a local concoction. Others have suggested possible poisoning, though no official statement has been issued.

In another clip, voices alleged that Fuji icons Pasuma and Saheed Osupa advised against burying the singer immediately, intensifying calls for a proper investigation.

Destiny Boy was widely regarded as one of the rising stars in the Afrofuji scene, and tributes continue to pour in from fans and fellow artistes who describe his passing as a huge loss to the music industry.
