Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has publicly reconciled with veteran filmmaker Afeez Owo after their months-long feud, offering a heartfelt apology during actor Odunlade Adekola’s movie premiere on Wednesday evening.
In a viral video from the event, Wumi was seen walking up to Afeez, going down on her knees and saying, “I’m sorry, sir. Please forgive me.”
Afeez, who initially appeared hesitant and attempted to step back, eventually lifted her up and embraced her, sealing the reconciliation.
The pair’s conflict began two months ago when Afeez Owo, during an appearance on the African A-List podcast, remarked that Wumi Toriola’s movie roles mirrored her real-life personality, suggesting that “violence is her comfort zone.”
Wumi responded with a now-deleted Instagram video, blasting the interview and calling his comments “rubbish.” Her reaction drew widespread criticism, with many social media users siding with Afeez.
The backlash reportedly affected the actress deeply, with reports claiming she was later hospitalized.
The emotional moment at the premiere has sparked fresh conversation online, with many applauding Wumi for taking the bold step to apologize and put the matter to rest.
