Afrobeats superstar Ayra Starr has officially confirmed her relocation to New York City as part of her push for a stronger global presence.

The 23-year-old singer revealed she has lived in the city for under two months but already feels at home, thanks to its familiar fast-paced energy and vibrant African community.

In a recent video interview, Ayra explained that New York’s atmosphere reminds her of Lagos, from its speed and cultural rhythm to the large number of Nigerians living there.

“New York reminds me so much of Lagos. So it feels like home. There are a lot of Nigerians here. There’s a huge African diaspora here, so it feels like home,” she shared.
