A shocking incident has left residents of Enugwu Akwu Achi, Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, in disbelief after a 4-year-old boy was reported locked inside his teacher's office for several hours as punishment.

According to reports, the young pupil, who is in Primary One at Central School, Enugwu Akwu Achi, was instructed by his teacher to kneel inside her office as a form of punishment.

However, after school closed around 2pm, the teacher allegedly left for home, locking the office with the child still inside.

The boy remained trapped in the dark office until around 10pm, when his worried parents raised an alarm after failing to find him.

Community members quickly mobilized, forcing the office door open to rescue the frightened child, who was reportedly weak and traumatized from the ordeal.

The Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Oji River, Nnaemeka Anyalebechi, also known as Radical, has since intervened and is reportedly handling the matter to ensure justice is served.

The disturbing incident has sparked outrage online, with many Nigerians calling for a thorough investigation and disciplinary action against the teacher involved.

This is just heartbreaking.

Yesterday, it was a three-year-old beaten so badly with a cane that the marks were all over her body. Today, it’s even worse, a four-year-old locked in a teacher’s office from 2 pm until around 10 pm in the name of discipline. How can anyone think it’s okay to lock up a child who is supposed to be safe and cared for?

The teacher needs to be punished, no excuses. But the parents also share some blame, why wait 8 hours before raising the alarm that your child is missing? This is shameful.

We all need to do better. Children are not tools for punishment; they are humans who deserve protection, love, and care. Society must step up, because these kinds of abuses should never happen.

Some teacher’s transfer their Tpain frustrations and insecurities onto their students. Lemme reiterate I don’t make friends with my kid’s teacher, I keep it professional make all man know their limits especially with my kids cos some of these guys are simply demonic.

@Olatomiwa100___"Wasn't it same Enugu a teach flogged a 3 year old and gave her marks ? Everyone is frustrated truly but taking it out on kids is cruel!"

@achugwotwins___"Where are his parents safe......... almost 10pm you didn't see your child? Both the teacher and the parents should go in for this wicked behaviour on this innocent child."
