Controversial Nigerian clergy, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has stirred a serious reaction online after publicly calling out two of Nigeria's most respected clergymen.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the outspoken clergyman, fondly called "Indaboski Bahose," while expressing deep frustration about the current hardship faced by ordinary Nigerians, questioned why prominent church leaders like Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church and Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church have remained silent.
Odumeje recalled how, during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, several pastors boldly condemned rising fuel prices and poor governance.
According to him, the current situation under the present administration is far worse, yet those same influential voices have gone silent.
He said:
“See Adeboye then,he was complaining that fuel price was too high. But today, things are worse, and nobody is talking. Everything is costly every blessed day, yet they’ve accepted bad government as normal life.”
The Anambra-based prophet didn’t stop there. He compared Nigeria’s struggling economy to that of Ghana, lamenting that the once-derided Ghanaian cedi now stands stronger than the Nigerian naira.
“The worst government now is Nigeria. See where Ghana is insulting Nigerians. Their currency is even stronger than ours. We used to mock Ghana’s money before, but today, Ghana’s cedi can be compared to the dollar,” he said.
Odumeje urged senior pastors to rise and use their platforms to demand accountability from political leaders, stressing that millions of Nigerians look up to them for moral guidance and truth.
“These are people who should be speaking up. Adeboye and Oyedepo should carry it strongly because people listen to them. Nigerians are suffering,” he added.
In his closing remarks, the controversial cleric called on Nigerian youths to unite and reclaim their nation from corrupt political elites, whom he described as “businessmen in disguise.”
“The time has come for the youth to rise. They must stop depending on those who only think of politics as business. Nigeria belongs to all of us,” he declared.
