Nigerian singer and songwriter Seyi Shay has shared who she believes is the greatest Nigerian artiste of all time.
In a fresh episode on the Honest Bunch podcast, the singer revealed that the Nigerian artiste she respects the most in the music industry is Afrobeats global superstar, Wizkid.
In the video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Seyi Shay couldn’t hold back her admiration for the Grammy-winning superstar, describing him as a “magician” whose creativity and wisdom set him apart in the music industry.
“Wizkid is the greatest artiste, he’s so smart and talented. He told me a lot about how industry people behave — I wish I had listened to him,” she confessed during the interview.
Seyi Shay’s remarks come as a surprise to many fans who recall her past fallout with Wizkid several years ago.
The two had an awkward public encounter in 2021 that stirred online drama, but her latest statement appears to show that she now holds the Essence crooner in high regard.
