Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebration on October 1 brought a mix of reflection and festivity across the nation.
While many citizens marked the day in different ways, veteran entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, caught the spotlight with a unique update.
The Area Fada shared a now-viral video of himself having breakfast with former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
In the clip, the duo could be seen catching up on a variety of issues, from men’s health to the state of the nation.
Charly Boy revealed that Obasanjo had personally invited him for the meeting, describing the ex-leader as the “father of fathers." With his usual playful energy, he captioned the moment:
“When Fada go see Father. Dis na how I spend my October 1st, with The Baba of dem all, OBJ. Baba summoned me to have breakfast with him. We talked about men’s health and Nigeria. The tins wey responsible Nigerian men dey go through no be small matter. Men, una dey try. Well done. It shall be well with us.”
The video quickly made rounds online, drawing mixed reactions from some Nigerians who expressed surprise and admiration, while others criticized the singer.
