The death of Arise News Television correspondent Somtochukwu Maduagwu has continued to draw attention online, as new claims emerge about the tragic incident in Abuja.
An X user, Charlie of Umunna (@CharlieCaker), shared what he said were details from the late journalist’s cousin.
According to the post, there was an armed robbery in her compound at Katampe, Abuja, in the early hours of Monday, September 29. During the chaos, Somtochukwu reportedly fell from a three-storey building and was left unconscious.
The thread alleged that her family members pleaded with the police officers who arrived at the scene to help take her to the hospital.
However, the officers allegedly told them they could not assist because they had no fuel in their vehicle. The post read: “She died upon arrival at the hospital."
The X user added that Somtochukwu was set to wed in two months’ time.
She was also preparing to mark her 30th birthday around the same period. Arise Television had earlier confirmed her passing in an official announcement, though without giving details of what led to her death.
