Nigerian superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has begun work on a new luxury home at Eko Atlantic City, a development projected to become Nigeria’s premier financial hub.
The news was revealed by Instagram influencer and Davido’s close friend, Tunde Ednut, who shared updates on Wednesday, August 3. According to him, the mansion will sit on a 2,700-square-meter property and feature 16 bedrooms.
Ednut also posted photos showing construction progress at the site. In his caption, he hinted at giving followers a full glimpse of the journey, writing:
“Stay tuned to this page as I will be taking you through the construction journey of Davido and Chioma Adeleke’s mansion.”
Property values at Eko Atlantic have skyrocketed in recent years. Land that once sold for about ₦180 million in the early 2000s is now valued at over ₦2 billion, according to the third edition of the State of the Lagos Housing Market report.
Earlier in the year, Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, disclosed his intention to relocate the headquarters of his conglomerate to the new city. He made the announcement during the groundbreaking ceremony of FirstBank’s eco-friendly headquarters in Eko Atlantic.
Eko Atlantic also called Nigeria’s International Commerce City is a mega urban project being developed on reclaimed land from the Atlantic Ocean in Lagos State. Once completed, it is expected to accommodate more than 250,000 residents and welcome around 150,000 daily visitors.
Following Ednut’s post, fans expressed mixed reactions. While many congratulated Davido on his new project, some jokingly compared it to Speed Darlington’s claims about his own 18-room mansion.
