The family of Tuma, the content creator who made defamatory allegations against Nigerian actress Regina Daniels, has come forward to plead for forgiveness from her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, and the general public.

In a recent interview with media personality Lucky Udu, Tuma’s mother and brother expressed their pain and concern over his continued detention.

The primary obstacle has been the requirement of tax clearance documents, which the court has consistently rejected, despite several attempts. Tuma’s mother, visibly emotional, described her son as her only hope since the death of her husband.

She tearfully appealed to the Nigerian public and to Ned Nwoko to forgive her son, emphasising that she is both mother and father to him. She claimed to have sold all her belongings to support him and lamented the social stigma and rejection they now face from their community.

Tuma’s brother further shed light on the deeper motivation behind his activism, linking it to the unresolved injustice their family suffered. Their late father, a former police officer, was allegedly wrongfully dismissed and detained without due process. He later died from an illness he developed during his detention.

This long-standing pain, the brother explained, fuelled Tuma’s outspokenness and social media activism.

The family stressed that while they did not support his actions against Regina Daniels, Tuma is not a criminal but a product of societal injustice, and they are calling for intervention in his case.
