Rahama Sadau, the Kannywood actress, has announced the passing of her father Ibrahim Sadau.
The 31-year-old film star broke the news in an X post on Sunday, asking for prayers for her late father.
“22-06-2025. Kindly say a prayer for my father. May Jannatul Firdaus be his final abode. Ameen thumma Ameen,” she wrote.
While she did not disclose the cause of death, fans, colleagues, and industry figures flooded the comments section with heartfelt condolences and prayers.
Rahama began her acting journey in school plays before making her official debut in 2013. She gained widespread recognition for her role in ‘Gani Ga Wane’ and has since become one of the most prominent actresses in the Hausa film industry.
Her talent transcended regional cinema, earning her roles in English-language Nollywood films and even Bollywood, where she starred in ‘Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2’. Over the years, she has received numerous accolades, including Best Actress (Kannywood) at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2014 and 2015, as well as Best African Actress at the African Film Awards in 2015.
Beyond acting, Rahama holds a degree in Human Resource Management from the Eastern Mediterranean University in Northern Cyprus.
