Grammy-winning South African singer, Tyla has stated that Nigerian R&B star, Tems has influenced her music.

Speaking in a recent interview with American outlet Billboard, the ‘Water’ hitmaker revealed that Tems musical achievements have had a significant impact on her career.

“Tems is a big one. What she’s been able to do has been very inspiring,” she said.

Tyla also mentioned Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, and Aaliyah as singers who have influenced her musically.

She also revealed that she will be releasing her sophomore album this year.

According to Tyla, this album will be different from her eponymous debut album.
