Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, better known by his stage name Asake, has been nominated for a 2025 Brit Award in the Best International Act category.

This honor comes after Asake's incredible 2024, in which he released his highly regarded third album, Lungu Boy.

Collaborations on the album with Wizkid, Stormzy, Central Cee, and Ludmila cemented his status as one of Nigeria's most prolific music exporters.

With a global fan base due to his catchy beats and thought-provoking lyrics, Asake's nomination marks a major turning point in both his career and the African music landscape.

Asake was nominated for the same Brit Awards category in 2024, making this his second time. His increasing popularity abroad is demonstrated by the fact that he is the only Nigerian musician nominated for the 2025 awards.

Asake will, however, have to contend with fierce competition in the category from international powerhouses like Benson Boone, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Billie Eilish.

On March 1, 2025, the renowned O2 Arena in London will host the Brit Awards ceremony, which will be hosted by Jack Whitehall. Both industry watchers and fans are eager to see if Asake can win the prized prize, so enhancing Nigeria's standing on the international music scene.
