Nigerian singer Ahmedu Obiabo, popularly known as Blackface, has said a fellow member of the defunct Plantashun Boiz, 2baba, ignored him when he asked him to appear on a song in his new album.
He said 2baba turned him down despite heading to the studio with him.
Blackface made this known in a recent interview with TVC.
He said, "I just released the Plantashun Boiz album now called The Return. Pheelz has a feature, but 2Baba is not on the album because he is not ready to be part of it. We already had the time to go to the studio, but they don’t want it. If somebody gives you the impression that he is not ready to do this anymore, do you keep waiting or move ahead? So I moved ahead.”
Speaking on his plans for the new year, Blackface said, "I am not demanding anything, just my respect. I have put in so much work in this game for the people that are even benefiting from it today, for the young ones that came after. I put in a lot of work; you can’t just take me out.”
Blackface, 2baba and Faze were members of the defunct Plantashun Boiz that reigned in the late 90s and early 2000s.
The singers have had successful solo careers since they parted ways in 2002.
