Nigerian singer, actor, and attorney, Folarin Falana, better known as Falz has disclosed that he used to work as a lawyer by day and a rapper at night.

He disclosed this when he described his double life while practising law.

Falz talked about the difficulties, noting that juggling his two careers was not simple.

In an episode of the Madam Joyce podcast, Falz clarified that it was against the law for attorneys to do other things while they were practising law.

He said, “There was a time I was in court and living a double life at the time as well. Lawyer by day, a rapper by night.

“So when I announced my appearance, ‘With profound respect my lord, the name is Folarin the Falana, appearing for the plaintiff' and the judge lowered his glasses and said ‘Counsel, are you not the one doing something else on the side?’

“There is an unspoken rule of professional conduct within the legal practice where you are not supposed to do other things."

Falz had earlier clarified that he ventured into law because he had a passion for it and not because he was coerced by his father, Femi Falana. According to him, many thought that because his father was an attorney, he forced him to study law against his will.
