Nigerian actress Mercy Johnson Okojie has come under fire for allegedly exploiting her popularity to persuade people to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is currently in power.

This happened when the actress was spotted supporting APC governor candidate Senator Monday Okpebholo for Edo State at a political rally.

Mercy Johnson urged women to discuss voting for Senator Monday with their husbands and kids in a video that has gone viral.

With her remarks, the mother of four enthused the crowd assembled at Ward 6 Irruekpen, Esan West LGA.

Some internet users, however, contend that if Monday Okpebholo performs poorly in his role as governor of Edo State, the actress shouldn't be calling her out or complaining like her colleague Toyin Abraham.
