Thousands of Nigerians have taken to social media to lament about how fake alcohol products have largely contributed to the rising cases of kidney diseases in the country.
This came after news broke out that popular Nigerian music video director, TG Omori has been battling kidney issues.
He underwent a kidney transplant surgery, only for it to fail again. His health and chances of survival has become a great concern to his family, colleagues, and fans all over the world.
Reacting, some netizens are of the opinion that though smoking and drinking alcohol contributes to such health complications, it even worsens when the alcohol is a fake product, as it becomes too poisonous.
According to them, there are so many fake alcohol products and the relevant authorities in Nigeria should fight against such products being imported into the country.

The quality of most products in Nigeria is very bad, sinceI tasted Ovaltine from Germany, I have been wondering what Nigerians did to deserve these things they're doing to us.

Stay safe out there ❤️
My last visit to Nigeria, I entered shop to buy Hennessy, everything is fake. I entered Shoprite, fake too. I don’t think Nigerians know the taste of original alcohol. It’s so sad.

A lot of products in Nigeria are fake or substandard. Alcohol (especially Hennessy and Azul), indomie noodles, milk, Kelloggs, malaria drugs, cosmetics, even petrol.
