Veteran actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu has been buried in his home town of Amuri, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu on Friday, June 28.
The funeral was attended by several Nollywood stars who gathered to bid him a final farewell.
On Wednesday, a night of tribute was held in his honour, with fellow actors such as Charles Anwurum and Victor Osuagwu, among those present to pay their last respects.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria held a candlelight procession earlier this month to pay tribute to Mr. Ibu and other deceased actors at Unity Fountain in Abuja.
The Rangers International Football Club and celebrities organized a football match to honour Mr. Ibu.
The funeral rites began on Thursday, June 27, with friends and family sending their tributes and farewell to the actor.
In October 2023, Mr Ibu sought financial assistance after battling an ailment.
However, in November 2023, his family announced that one of his legs had been amputated to keep him alive.
Unfortunately, Mr Ibu passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024.
