Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku has honoured the late actor Sam Loco Efe on Instagram.

According to him, when she first started as a producer, she wanted to collaborate with the late actor because she admired him.

Mary Njoku acknowledged him as one of the most gifted performers in Nigeria and gave him credit for being an inspiration to both the Nigerian film industry and herself.

She wrote: “Life is short. When I was an aspiring Producer, I wanted to work with you so badly, even though you barely knew me. I dreamt of creating a show just to feature you. You were one of the most talented actors Nigeria has ever known and possibly ever will know.

"Today, as I reflect on my journey as a filmmaker, I celebrate your contribution to my life as a creative and to Nollywood. Your craft inspired a whole generation of filmmakers. Take your flowers and rest on, LEGEND of all time!”.

Sam Loco Efe passed away in August 2011, in a hotel room. In the hotel room where he slept, ventolin inhalers were discovered next to him when he was discovered dead.

He had gone to bed the night before and had not returned, so they pushed the door open.

Vanguard discovered that contrary to rumours, Sam Loco Efe was in Owerri, Imo State, editing a movie that Favour Ogosi, a native of Bayelsa State, was producing. The film's title is still unknown.
