Social media users have expressed mixed reactions following the news that controversial activist and TikToker, VeryDarkMan, has been remanded again.
A source revealed in a video that the TikToker appeared in court on Wednesday, May 21, for the hearing of charges levelled against him by the Nigerian police and was remanded afterwards. According to the source, VeryDarkMan will be released next week.
The source further stated that VeryDarkMan was aware of the path he had chosen: to speak for the voiceless and serve as an activist to help liberate the people of Nigeria, so he was prepared for anything that would come his way.
Recall that VeryDarkMan was remanded in police custody for nine days over alleged cyberbullying.
VeryDarkMan’s detention sparked widespread concern and outcry among his followers and fellow activists, raising questions about freedom of speech and online expression in Nigeria.
Regarding his recent arrest, many social media users have aired mixed reactions. Some have pleaded that the activist should not be released because he causes social media havoc.
Others, however, stated that they wished he could be released because he was fighting for the voiceless and activists go through a lot.
