'You're lying' – Reaction as Iyanya reveals why he took lady he met at Davido’s concert on a date

Nigerian singer Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk better known as Iyanya has revealed why, despite warnings from her supposed boyfriend, he went on a date with the woman he met at Davido's "Timeless" concert.

Recall that the singer received a threat and a warning to back off after posting images of the lady on his Twitter page.

Iyanya afterwards shared photos of himself and the lady on a date.

The Afrobeats musician clarified on Tuesday, May 2, via his Twitter account that Florence was just taken out on a date as a means of helping her get over her depression.

Iyanya explains that after expressing an interest in meeting her on social media, Florence contacted his team, and they learned from her that she had been depressed and had only come to see Davido perform as a way to cheer herself up.

He claimed that in order to assist her in overcoming her despair, his staff made plans and flew her to Lagos.

He wrote, “When Florence arrived in Lagos on Saturday I was not in Lagos, I had events in Calabar and PH respectively. When I came back Monday afternoon. I headed to Sliver Jetty and spent the afternoon with Florence on a boat cruise. She’s amazing guys. She has dreams of becoming an influencer.

“To assist Florence in becoming an influencer, I got her a brand new iPhone to make this easier and create good content.

“Watch out for Florence, she’s going to do great things.”

Iyanya added that his staff left the lady off at her hotel when they first met, and emphasized that he didn't bring Florence to Lagos with "any other agenda but to make sure she was happy after all she's been through."
