BBNaija star, Eric breaks silence on alleged arrest over fraud

Former Big Brother Naija LockDown housemate, Eric Akhigbe, has reacted to the reports that he was arrested in the United Kingdom over fraud.

Eric was accused of defrauding people, promising them a slot on the BBNaija reality show.

According to Baby C, a Nigerian singer who fell for the alleged sham, she was scammed of millions by the reality star after he promised to facilitate her entry into the BBNaija house.

She claimed to have paid him N5.3 million to facilitate her entry into the BBNaija house. She further explained how the reality star with the help of another person allegedly duped her.

Subsequently, another report made the rounds online that Eric has been arrested over alleged fraud and scamming gullible people.

In a statement shared on Instagram today, December 15, 2022, Eric debunked the allegations, stating he was not arrested in the UK as reported in some news platforms.

He also threatened to take legal action against those spreading false information about him.

He wrote: “My legal team and have been alerted on an article posted today on @pulsenigeria247 defaming my character and telling lies about my alleged arrest in the UK which are totally false. I was not arrested in the UK, they are all lies.

“My legal team is taking all actions on reaching out to the appropriate blog to correct the misconception they have created in the minds of the general public or face legal action.”
