Nigerian music sensation Kizz Daniel paid tribute to late music icon Fela Kuti, when he treated football fans in Qatar with a song from the late legend.

Kizz Daniel performed on the main stage of the FIFA World Cup Fan Festival along with the likes of Diplo, Nora Fatehi, Trinidad Cardona and Calvin Harris.

The Buga crooner delivered Fela’s song Lady in style, and the over 50,000 fans present at the venue loved it as they sang along.

He could be heard singing: “If you call am woman African woman no go 'gree. She go say, she go say, I be lady, oh." It was a night of glitz and glamour as the sounds blasted from the speakers, reverberating throughout the arena.

Afrobeat king Fela composed the song in 1972 in an attempt to preach on 'the subordination of women', SongFacts reports.

Regarding Lady in particular, it is most definitely not to be confused with any other song of the same or similar title; those of a sensitive disposition should enjoy the lengthy Afrobeat instrumental introduction and ignore the words.

Currently armed with the hit track Cough (Odo), the Nigerian singer thrilled the audience with a breathtaking performance.

It was a live-band show and the singer delivered, with some of the finest dancers complementing his efforts. The fans could be heard yelling for more and could clearly not get enough of Kizz Daniel, as they chanted, shouted and screamed, begging the singer to continue.
