Nigeria's creative arts industry needs more support from govt – Caramel Plugg

Social media sensation, Ogechi Ukonu popularly known as Caramel Plugg has urged the government to support the creative arts industry.

The comedienne noted that the level of support given to the arts industry is very minimal.

She appealed to the government to reach out to the entertainment industry with more support for the youth.

“In Nigeria, it's quite minimum, and we do need more,” she said.

Caramel who was speaking in an interview with MyNigeria in Ghana on Saturday, June 12, 2021, said that she is appreciative of everyone who has supported her in one way or the other.

Since the release of her first skit on Instagram, Caramel has featured some popular celebrities such as Don Jazzy.

Adding that her famous bonnet which contributed to her success has now been transformed into a business.

The young businesswoman said after she received several messages from people on where she got her hair bonnet, she thought it wise to create her brand.
