Toke Makinwa says she'll disappoint her followers who see her as role model

Celebrities over the world are often seen as role models to their followers and it is not in any way different in Nigeria. However, some celebrities have outrightly refused the huge responsibility as their lives and actions are always under strict scrutiny.

Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa is the latest celebrity to take to her Twitter page to tell her followers to stop calling her their role model.

According to her, she is nobody's role model, noting that the pressure from people has to stop.

The controversial OAP also added that people should raise their kids to see themselves as a work in progress.

Toke said that if a part of her life is inspiring to people, it is okay to use it as a guideline, however, she noted that she is not perfect and will still make a lot of mistakes.

According to her, she would disappoint people who see her as a role model without apologies as she is also still trying to figure out life.

Adding that she accepts all her flaws, Toke says she is under no pressure to fit into what people's idea of perfection. She urged people to be inspired by her life but no one should pressure her into becoming their role model.
