Yinka Ayefele on his feet again after 23 years
Yinka Ayefele is recognized as one of the biggest gospel artist
Veteran gospel musician, Yinka Ayefele stunned his social media followers after a video of him standing went viral.
Recognized as one of the biggest Yoruba gospel artists, Ayefele was involved in an accident 23 years ago that left him confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
However, through the help of a sophisticated remote-controlled chair bought by a friend, Hon. Oludare Akande, the artist can now stand and perform all of his songs.
"I feel so relieved of my pain...Hon Oludare Akande bought this for me. You will never experience pains in your entire life. Thanks so much..Dare Akande tinje Obama lamerica... You raise my hope of walking again. I believe!!!" he wrote on Instagram.
A former broadcaster and journalist, Yinka Ayefele began his music career in 1997 after his friend Kola Olootu visited and advised him to put some songs together after the automobile accident.
His first song 'Bitter Experience' released in 1998 brought him the limelight. He has since released other albums including: Something Else, Divine Intervention and Life after death.
He is an award-winning singer with over 200 recognitions. In 2011, he was awarded a Member of the Order of the Niger by Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. He is also the the Ekiti cultural ambassador award.
