Nigerian Television Show, Big Brother Naija is defying all elements of coronavirus, inclusive of face masks and social distancing as it promises to air very soon.

This coming from the stables of show organisers, DSTV who would soon air the fifth instalment of the TV series.

Big Brother Naija, formerly known as Big Brother Nigeria, is a Nigerian reality competition television series, based on the Big Brother television franchise, in which 12 to 21 contestants live in an isolated house and compete for a large cash prize worth $171,428.57 equivalent to 60,000,000 Nigerian Naira, and other material gifts, at the end of the show by avoiding being evicted from the house by viewers.

The first season of the show first aired on DStv Channel 37 from March 5 to June 4, 2006. The voting results were verified by the auditing company of Alexander-Forbes.

Mercy was crowned the winner of the fourth season. She also became the first female to emerge winner on the show.



The Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, Mr John Ugbe, disclosed on Sunday, June 23, 2019, that the winner of the new season of the reality show will be given N60m worth of prizes.

This fourth edition started with 21 housemates. These housemates included Omashola, Avala, Khafi, Ike, Frodd, Ella, Nelson, Isilomo, Kimophra, Esther, Sir DEE, Tuoyo, Thelma, Sheyi, Diane, Jeff, Mike, Mercy, Tacha, Gedoni, and Jackye. 5 other housemates were added after some weeks in the house. These housemates included Elozonam, Venita, Enkay, Joe and Cindy.
