Uche Jombo speaks against filmmakers making movies amid coronavirus

Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo has kicked against filmmakers who are shooting movies despite the coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.

Since lockdown ease was declared in Nigeria, many filmmakers in the country have resumed their activities.

This has been frowned upon by Uche Jombo who took to Twitter to speak against the filmmakers.

She tweeted: "What is the hurry to start filming in this coronavirus times by some Nollywood filmmakers?".

Meanwhile, the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reached out to Oladiran Ibironke, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dudu Heritage Films, on the effect of coronavirus on movie production.

He said, “Virtually everything is on standstill. From production to sales, we are, however, praying for the pandemic to be over.

“Thank God that social media is still trending. Therefore we have been able to continue linkage with numerous consumers worldwide.

“And since it is not only the entertainment industry that is affected, movie production cannot be crippled, it will only be on hold just for a while. “There are so many ongoing projects that have been put on hold, but which would eventually be concluded".
