Controversial Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has issued a public message to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to focus on critical national issues rather than the 2027 general elections.
Taking to his Facebook page on Tuesday evening, the actor a vocal supporter of the president stressed that the upcoming election is still two years away and should not overshadow current challenges.
He wrote: “To my dear President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, @officialasiwajubat. Please don’t let politicians distract you with 2027. We’re still in 2025. High cost of living and high rate of insecurity are still ravaging Nigerians. These 2 remain the most pressing issues to deal with. May God lead you, sir.”
Edochie also recently appealed to the president to consider reviving the cashless policy introduced by former President Muhammadu Buhari. He argued that the policy had a stabilizing effect on the economy, strengthened the naira, and led to a decrease in the cost of goods.
According to him, even lower denomination notes began regaining value, and criminal activities such as kidnapping were curtailed due to reduced access to physical cash.
The actor has consistently used his platform to comment on national issues, urging leaders to prioritize the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.
