Davido has said fellow singer Wande Coal is pained that he came from behind to overtake him in the music industry.

The beef between the two singers started after Davido gave an interview in which he revealed why a song between him and Wande Coal never got released.

According to him, Wande Coal brought the song to him to release as an original, only to later state that their version would be a remix. He objected, which led to the song being shelved.

Following the interview, Wande Coal took to social media to express his grievance, saying Davido had no power to determine his song's release plan.

He said, "Carry song come give you as how? Song wey been get release plan and date!!! Song wey no be your own you wan dictate release plan. That song f0ckin did well without you on it bruv."

Firing back, Davido said in another interview, "Wande Coal has been looking for my attention for the past year, for some reason I don't know. He even asked for my number two weeks ago, and I told them not to give him. He's just acting like a baby. He'll be fine. He has somebody to take care of him anyway.

"I didn't even say anything bad in that interview. I just said I recorded the song as an original, i didn't record it as a remix. But he wanted to drop it as a remix, and I was like, no, I don't want us to do that.

"The whole industry, they always rush to get to David. I've known Wande, he's one of the artistes I looked up to growing up. I know it's painful to see somebody come from behind and overtake them, so he's not himself in the head. But he'll be fine.

"As for Wizkid, I don't want to answer that question."

He then posted on X, saying, " No vex Mr Little," to which Wande Coal replied, "No vex too Mr. Toto beggar," referring to a viral video showing Davido on his knees allegedly begging for sex from a girl.

Wande Coal also addressed claims that he was begging for Davido's phone number.

He said, "I wonder why you no post the full chat, asked for your number 2 weeks ago, how??? WHO YOU EPP? I passed the baton to the next generation of talented artists, not you talentless fool; keep capping on National TV."
