Singer Beautiful Nubian has accused gospel musician Yinka Ayefele and another artist BBO of copyright infringement.
According to him, both singers stole melody from his song Seven Lifes to make up their own song.
In a post on X, Beautiful Nubian warned Nigerians, especially gospel musicians, to learn to respect copyright.
He wrote, "There was Yinka Ayefele with 'My Faith in God (Igbagbo Ireti)' in 2012, and now someone called BBO with 'Amin' this year. Both stole their melodies from our original song 'Seven Lifes'. When will Nigerians (especially the so-called gospel musicians) learn to respect copyright?"
Yinka Ayefele and BBO are yet to respond to the allegation levelled by Beautiful Nubian.
Meanwhile, netizens have aired their opinion, with @MogajiLummy saying, "No even talk about the Yinka Ayefele own. He recorded a whole album and sampled Orlando Owoh all through. You should send your lawyers to them sha."
@Xdayshere said, "Beautiful Nubia no like wahala. But these people need to give honour to whom it’s due. These songs are clearly a sample of Seven lives. They are the original melodies of Beautiful Nubia."
@Speak4ThemAll said, "Please sue them! Nigerians must learn to respect intellectual property. Yinka Ayefele will not give you 2 hours free airtime on any of his radio stations."
