Wizkid worries about Naija pastors and their distance from COVID-19 isolation centers

Wizkid Wizkid

Singer Wizkid has wondered why no Nigerian pastor has gone to COVID-19 isolation centers to heal the patients there.

The singer stated this amid controversies surrounding the guidelines given by government for churches to follow ahead of their reopening.

"I never see any Naija pastor go isolation go heal anybody from COVID-19", Wizkid tweeted.

MyNigeria.com recalls that Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries beckoned on government to give pastors access to isolation centers to heal COVID-19 patients.

“Please (referring to the government) permit us to go and pray for COVID-19 patients. Allow us to go there (isolation centres), that is why there are men of God,” he said.

He was immediately challenged by a witches advocate group who promised to give him a thousand dollars if he heals a COVID-19 patient.

The challenge was made by the founder of the Nigerian Humanist Movement, Leo Igwe.

He said, “I am challenging the founder of Omega Ministries, Apostle Suleman to demonstrate his so-called gift of healing under agreed medical and scientific conditions.

“I ask Suleman to heal a person with a confirmed case of COVID-19 and get a thousand US dollars. This challenge has become necessary because Apostle Suleman has in a recent video, urged the government of Nigeria to allow him and other pastors with the gift of healing into the isolation centers so that they could pray and heal those who have been infected by the virus.

In response, Apostle Suleman described Leo Igwe as a poor person. He also stated that some COVID-19 patients have already been healed.

He tweeted: "A certain Leo Igwe says I should heal covid19 and get a 1000 dollars. I will send you the details of those already healed..so you can investigate. I am not the healer, God is. To mention 1000 dollars shows you are broke and poor..keep it..you need the money than me".

Shortly after Apostle Suleman's response, Cameroonian Prophet, Frankline Ndifor of Kingship International Ministries Church died after laying hands on COVID-19 patients.

Leo Igwe used the opportunity to mock Apostle Suleman.

About the Cameroonian pastor, he said, “He was laying hands on those with confirmed cases of COVID-19. A pastor has also died in Port Harcourt in a similar circumstance. There may have been some other unreported cases of faith healing pastors who have died after laying hands on COVID-19 patients. This is a sad development. Some weeks ago, I urged the Nigerian authorities to sanction a pastor, Apostle Suleman, for claiming that he could heal a COVID-19 patient. He asked the government to allow him into the isolation centers so that he could heal those with confirmed cases of this disease".
