Afrobeats singer Seun Kuti has continued his public feud with Wizkid, marking what he described as the seventh day of calling out the singer and his fan base, popularly known as Wizkid FC.

During an Instagram Live session on Wednesday, January 21, 2025, Seun Kuti referred to Wizkid and his supporters as the biggest clout chaser in Nigeria and went further to place a heavy curse on the singer.

Seun claimed that Wizkid would not regain success unless he removed the tattoo of Fela Anikulapo Kuti from his hand and replaced it with that of his biological father.

The latest outburst follows comments allegedly made by Wizkid, where the “Essence” crooner reportedly referred to Seun Kuti as “a fool at forty” and mocked him for using a ring light to attack Wizkid FC daily. Wizkid was also said to have called Seun “hungry” and claimed to be bigger than Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Reacting to this, Seun Kuti insisted that Wizkid harbours resentment toward Fela despite having his face tattooed on his arm. He accused the singer of lacking originality and failing to find inspiration within his own roots. Seun also criticised Wizkid for frequently changing his stage identity, citing names such as Wizkid, Big Wiz, Machala, and Big Bird. He alleged that Wizkid took the “Big Bird” nickname from him, noting that his Instagram handle is “bigbirdkuti.”

Seun further expressed support for Burna Boy, wearing a chain the Grammy-winning singer gifted him. He praised Burna Boy for publicly stating that Fela Anikulapo Kuti remains the only artiste bigger than him.

Continuing his remarks, Seun Kuti claimed that Wizkid and his fan base do not value homegrown inspiration, questioning why the singer chose to tattoo Fela instead of his own father. He also alleged that Wizkid has been inactive musically, claiming the singer has not been booked for shows in recent months, though no evidence was provided to support this.

Seun also warned singer Asake to be cautious of Wizkid following their joint EP, alleging that Wizkid often seeks relevance by associating with other artistes.

He concluded the live session with further insults directed at Wizkid, stating that he would no longer respond to the singer or his fan base, adding that his objective had been achieved and that he was now focused on preparing for his scheduled performances this year.
