Wizkid, Davido, Don Jazzy tops list of Nigeria’s richest musicians

The Nigerian music industry is no doubt the biggest on the African continent and arguably one of the biggest in the globe. The growth of the industry can be traced way back to the days of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Ebenezer Obey, Onyeka Onwenu, and others.

The baton has, however, been passed on to the next generation of talents who haven’t just expanded the industry but have added the needed commercial value to it.

The success of these persons has brought the needed impetus to the industry, ensuring the success of every level of the music chain.

Below are the names of Nigeria’s richest musicians.

1) Wizkid Net Worth ($20m)

Afrobeats star, Wizkid has grown to become one of the most successful musicians in the country. Since his introduction into the scene from EME Records, he has risen steadily to become the richest talent in the country.

With an estimated net worth of $20 million according to Forbes, he is Nigeria’s richest musician. Apart from singing, Wizkid also secured endorsement deals with MTN Nigeria and GLO. Clacified.com said his endorsement with Glo earned him N120 million.



He also increased his cash inflow after securing multi-million deals with Pepsi, Guinness and United Bank of Africa (UBA).



Wizkid has a $13 million mansion in Surulere, Lagos, and another one in Los Angeles, Clacified said. His car collection includes: Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Panamera, Mercedes Benz G63 AMG, and BMW X6 crossover.

2) Davido Net Worth ($16m)

11 years in the game and Davido has created a blueprint to success in Nigeria.



Davido has endorsement deals with MTN, Guinness Nigeria and Infinix mobile. His deal with MTN is reported to cost, $78,296 (N30 million).



Clacified reports that he makes between N10-N40 million per show making him one of the highest-paid musicians in Nigeria. He has assets such as a private jet, a N70 million house in Lagos, and several vacation houses in Nigeria, and Atlanta.

Davido has several cars in his name, his latest car is a Lamborghini Urus, estimated at $200,000. He also owns a Porsche, Range rover, Honda, Rolls Royce Phantom, Mercedes Benz Sedan AMG, and Toyota Land Cruiser.

3) Don Jazzy - Net Worth ($18.5m)

The big Don himself must definitely be on the list. Born Michael Ajereh, Don Jazzy like he is called in the industry is estimated to be worth over $18 million. His entrepreneurial drive combined with his talent in music management makes him one of the biggest music exports from Nigeria.



Don Jazzy started his music career working with D’banj to make various hit tracks as Mo'hits record before they went their separate ways in 2012. After which he created the new record label Mavin Records.

Burna Boy - Net Worth ($17m)

The African Giant is worth around $17 million. Born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, the singer, songwriter became famous in the industry after he released ‘Like to Party’ in 2012 from his debut album L.I.F.E. Although the album was debuted on the 13th of August 2013 by Aristokrat Records, five singles were released in 2012.

The album reportedly sold 40,000 copies on the first day of its release and sold its marketing rights to Uba Pacific for 10 million Naira. The album featured 2baba, M.I, Reminisce, Wizkid, Timaya, and Olamide.



Burna boy left Aristokrat records in 2014, and in 2015 he established his record label named Spaceship Entertainment. He debuted his second album ‘On a Spaceship’ on the 25th of November 2015.

2Baba – Net Worth ($16m)

One of the oldest in the game, Tu Face, now known as 2Baba is one of Nigeria’s biggest export.

Worth $16 million, 2Baba rose from nothing to something and then became one of the best Afropop singers in Africa.



Remember African Queen? The song and album released in 2014 took him to the apex of the industry and since then he has maintained his dominance as one of the greatest.

A protégé of the late, Dagrin, Olamide maintained his stage first name as his stage name, building a successful brand around it.

With an estimated net worth of $12 million, he is the 6th richest musician in Nigeria.



Olamide is well known to sing mostly in his native language Yoruba, and this has gained him the followership across western Nigeria, especially Lagos.

Olamide who now has an estimated net worth of $12 million commenced his journey into the music world with Coded Tunes label, but currently puts a lot of effort to raise a few other artists through his YBNL record label.
