Why some men don't want their girlfriend to level up - Toke Makinwa

OAP Toke Makinwa has taken to social media to slam men who don't like to see their girlfriend "level up".

In a tweet, Toke Makinwa stated that the reason why men do much is that their toxic masculinity will be checked.

"Some of Ya'll don’t want your girlfriends to level up so you’ll rather they don’t stan me cos once they do your toxic masculinity will be checked. They will see the light someday. cheers to you still", she wrote.

Recently, Toke Makinwa sparked controversy after she said that marriage should have an expiry date and also a renewal clause.

The OAP who is divorced from a marriage with Maje Ayida made the suggestion on social media.

She also revealed how she feels when she sees couples who have spent ten years and more in marriage.

She wrote: "Each time I see people who’ve been married for 10 years and more, I can’t lie I respect them BIG, for holding it together and not losing it, it is a lot of work and I wish many people were more honest about that journey

"I think marriage should have an expiry and subject to renewal clause after a certain number of years, like the way we renew agreements people should be allowed to look back on time out in, grade themselves and hit the renewal button if they can still stand each other"
