Labour Party presidential candidate and former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, has offered an explanation for his busy travel schedule.

Speaking during an interview with popular comedian and media personality Ayodeji Makun, known as AY, Obi addressed questions about how he manages to maintain a punishing travel itinerary that recently spanned overseas trips and multiple local state visits in rapid succession.

When AY asked how he manages to be everywhere despite the visible stress, pointing out recent stops in Niger State, Kaduna, and the United Kingdom, Obi
compared his continuous political consultations across Nigeria and abroad to a jobless citizen attending multiple job interviews.

"Like every other person looking for a job, wherever you have an interview, you have to go. If you apply for a job, you apply to different companies. And when they schedule an interview, you have to go.

"Whether it's convenient or not convenient for you, you have to go there. I'm looking for a job, so I have to be everywhere for the interview," Obi said.

The former governor's response drew laughter and praise online for framing the relationship between public office seekers and the electorate as an employment process where voters hold the ultimate hiring power.

Since emerging as a major force in Nigerian politics, Peter Obi has maintained an active itinerary, attending town halls, university lectures, sympathy visits, and international diaspora forums to build support for his political platform.
