Nollywood actress Uche Okoye has stirred debate online after revealing an unusual dating standard for herself — she says she only dates single pastors.

In a post shared via Instagram on August 20, 2026, the actress explained her reasoning: "I only date single pastors with the fear of God."

She insisted that she avoids sin and keeps herself "clean" for a future husband.

"I hate sins, I don't sin, I don't have s*x outside marriage, only my future husband is allowed to see my nakedness, I'm clean. I don't like adulterous guys, I think they all want to lead me into sins, like the ones in my DM begging me to let them put only cap. What's cap???" she wrote.

The post quickly drew a wave of reactions — many of them skeptical or mocking.

One user, @adedynah, quipped: "No be the nakedness I dey see so." Another, Chukwuebuka Prince, questioned the logic of her stated restriction, asking: "What do you do with pastor you date? Them putting their caps not a sin?"

User Odinaka also poked holes in her framing, noting most churches require pastors to be married before they can lead a congregation: "Which church wey dey allow single pastor to pastor them. As a pastor u must be legally married before u pastor a church."

Other joked that dating "only single pastors" sounded like a stretch, while another user, 4STEPS, made light of the broader trend of "baddies" dating pastors "for the love of offering n tithe."

The actress is yet to respond publicly to the wave of commentary trailing her comments.
