Who gets to share Kirk Douglas' wealth after he snubbed his family for charity?

Kirk and Michael Douglas Kirk and Michael Douglas

Legendary Nollywood actor, Kirk Douglas has passed on at 103, but his deeds still speak about him even after his passing.

Kirk was known to be a charitable man and upon his passing, he gave $61m fortune by giving away $50million to be distributed through the Douglas Foundation, which aims to "help those who cannot otherwise help themselves".

Some of the beneficiaries include St Lawrence University, where they fund a scholarship for minority and underprivileged students; Westwood's Sinai Temple, which houses the Kirk and Anne Douglas Childhood Center; Culver City's Kirk Douglas Theatre, a dilapidated movie theater restored as a live performance venue, and Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

This arrangement means that his children and wife are left with barely anything to share from his $80 million estate.

The Douglas Foundation was created in 1964 by Douglas and his wife Anne Beydens Douglas. Anne Douglas, who was married to the acting legend for 65 years, still serves as the nonprofit’s managing trustee.

The speculation abounds who will get the rest of Kirk Douglas’ money — about $10 million — in addition to Anne, he is survived by Joel Douglas, the couple’s son, and Peter and Michael, his sons from his first marriage.

Joel is a film producer and Peter is a television producer.

A fourth son, Eric, died of an accidental overdose in Manhattan in 2004.

Michael doesn’t stand to inherit any dough — not that he would need it.

The “Wall Street” star is worth about $300 million in his own right.
