Comedian Ali Baba has expressed his disgust at the actions of Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo who has been accused of using his immunity to prevent the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from arresting his predecessor, Yahaya Bello.

The EFCC conducted a raid on the Kogi Governor’s lodge in Abuja, where Bello is said to be residing, in an attempt to arrest him. However, they were prevented from doing so due to the governor’s immunity.

This occurred a day after Yahaya Bello finally responded to the anti-graft agency’s invitation after ignoring it multiple times. He arrived at the EFCC’s headquarters accompanied by Ododo and other high-profile individuals.

The EFCC later released a statement indicating that Bello was not in their custody and was still declared wanted.

Bello is facing 19-count charges bordering on money laundering amounting to N80, 246, 470,089.88k (Eight Billion, Two Hundred and Forty-six Million, Four Hundred and Seventy Thousand and Eighty-nine Naira, Eighty-eighty Kobo).

In response to these events, Ali Baba shared a video where he blasted the Kogi Governor and the EFCC for failing to apprehend the former governor, who he claims is holding the country hostage.

In the video posted on September 20, 2024, Ali Baba said, “So, I’m hearing that the governor of Kogi is protecting the ex-governor of Kogi from being prosecuted. What kind of nonsense is that? If it were a Boko Haram person who killed several people and they wanted to arrest him, one governor would say he is protecting him. Get military personnel to the location and bundle the rascal out. What nonsense is that? If it is some ordinary individuals, they would go to the village and burn down the place. Go and pick up the monkey and bring him out. What nonsense is all that? Former Kogi Governor is holding the country to ransom. Let them go and pick the guy up and begin to prosecute him.”

Captioning the video, he wrote;
“I don't even know what this country is becoming.

So this is the same person who wanted to become our president?

A whole Donal Trump was prosecuted and convicted.

It's Mr. President, NSA, and the IG of Police that are allowing these political rascality to go on.

If he had nothing to hide, let him go and answer to the EFCC invitation.

This is why people are breaking the laws any how.

If it's Sowore now, they will sieze his passport.

If it's NLC president, they will detain him.

So the police are now stopping the police from doing their job.

I one ordinary citizen post one kind nonsense thing online now, the person will be picked up one time.

The person who gave a Nigerian Government official was jailed.

The person who collected the bribe is walking freely.”
