What ‘Me & U’ is about - Tems reveals

Nigerian top singer, Tems has revealed in a recent interview about how special her first single in two years titled ‘Me and You’ is to her.

During her interview with BBC 1Xtra, she stated that her latest hit single was a conversation between her and God.

Since 2021, Tems has contributed to the musical score for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, co-wrote Rihanna‘s ‘Lift Me Up‘, and clinched her first Grammy award for her part in Future’s chart-topping single, ‘Wait For U‘.

Tems who released “Me & U” on October 5, 2023 added that the song was initially recorded two years ago.

She said: “I made this song two or three days after we shot the video for “Essence“. So this song was actually created in 2021.

“This whole song was my freestyle with words. When I freestyle I kind of black out into a different world where I am really expressing my soul. As I was freestyling I was just having a conversation with God in my mind”
