After successfully surpassing the world record for the longest cooking time for an individual, a video of Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey widely known as Hilda Baci speaking on why she attempted to break the record has emerged.
In the interview on News Central TV, the 27-year-old stated she wants to alter the perception of women being undervalued in society and left out when particular topics are being discussed.
According to her, she wants to set a precedent so others who come after her believe they can also be successful.
She continued by saying that she feels scared when she thinks about her goals and her aspirations because they appear difficult and expensive, but she wants to achieve each one of them so that others can be inspired by her.
Hilda argued that women do not necessarily need to break world records in order to achieve their goals, but she nonetheless wants to dispel the myth that women like her are incapable of making positive changes in their lives, in order for them to work more and go beyond what they are capable of.
