Nigerian singer Korede Bello recently shared insights about his faith in a post on Instagram.
The former Mavin Records artist revealed that he was born into Islam and practiced it for years before deciding to read the Bible on his own. He explained that his interest in learning about Jesus Christ stemmed from personal conviction rather than religious obligation.
Korede Bello further noted that when Christians overly focus on the cross as a symbol of identity, it can feel like repeatedly nailing Christ all over again. He admitted that his video message was lengthy, but he wasn’t concerned with public opinions. According to him, people will recognize his devotion to Jesus through the love he demonstrates to others.
The singer highlighted the significance of Jesus’ love and the symbolism of the cross, explaining that it represents the end of sin, wrongdoing, and one’s former self. He stated that a believer’s true identity is found in the risen Christ, who now sits beside God the Father. Korede added that prayers are offered through Christ, who is no longer physically on earth or on the cross.
He concluded by sending good wishes to his fans, expressing hope that they too would experience salvation, as he continued to reflect on the love of Jesus Christ and the meaning of the cross.
